‘Hehua Yudie’ (荷花玉蝶) is a distinctive cultivar of Japanese Apricot (Prunus mume), prized for its elegant, full double blossoms and beautiful color variation. The name “Hehua Yudie” can be interpreted as “Lotus Jade Butterfly,” referring to the graceful, layered appearance of its flowers.

One of its most attractive features is the contrast of color as the flowers develop. The rounded buds display deeper rose-pink tones, while the opening flowers gradually reveal layers of soft pink and white petals. The blossoms are complemented by striking reddish calyces, creating an especially beautiful appearance when buds and fully opened flowers are present on the same branch.

The dense, overlapping petals give each flower a full, lotus-like form, making Hehua Yudie noticeably different from many common single-flowered Prunus mume varieties.
